Barger named Anna Mouradian as her chief deputy, taking the role that Barger filled for her predecessor, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, who was termed out this November.

Mouradian has been with the district for more than 15 years, and “knows the county very well,” said Tony Bell, who will stay on in the 5th District as Barger’s spokesman.

“Anna will be a great chief deputy for Supervisor Barger in implementing Barger’s vision for the district and its communities,” Bell added.

Mouradian is being replaced by Stephanie English, who will become justice deputy after formerly serving as spokeswoman for the region on behalf of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Edel Vizcarra is another carryover from the Antonovich administration, who will provide continuity for the Fifth District by serving as planning and public works deputy for Barger.

“He’s great at working with the communities (in the county) and speaking with the local governments,” Bell said of Vizcarra. “That’s a top priority (for Barger), maintaining that access and an open door for our residents.”

Rosalind Wayman also will stay on as the district representative, responsible for managing the local office, appearances on behalf of the supervisor and other intergovernmental relations for the Fifth District.
