“Today, my colleagues and I in the Assembly Republican Caucus have unanimously selected Assemblyman Chad Mayes, R-Yucca Valley, as our new leader-elect to serve alongside Assembly Republican Leader Kristen Olsen, R-Modesto, until the legislature reconvenes next year on Jan. 4, 2016.
Assemblyman Mayes brings a wealth of knowledge to our Caucus and I look forward to his diligent work ethic and leadership as our Caucus continues to move in the right direction.
Kristen Olsen may have been a transitional leader in terms of time, but she has been transformative in her impact on Caucus operations. Her changes set a pathway to Republican relevancy and she worked to lay the foundation for a Republican majority in the near future. Thanks to Kristen, our Caucus is united, focused, and motivated.
I have the utmost respect for both of my colleagues and have complete confidence their leadership will lead to further success in modernizing our Caucus procedures and open the doors of the Republican Party.”
The 38th Assembly District encompasses Simi Valley, the northern section of the San Fernando Valley and most of the Santa Clarita Valley.
