Porn star Marilyn Chambers was found dead in a mobile home Sunday evening by her daughter. Deputies responded to the residential park in the 18000 block of Vasquez Canyon Road and found Chambers unresponsive.
[view:node_ad=5] Chambers, 56, whose real name is Marilyn Ann Taylor, started out as a model on the Ivory Snow laundry detergent box, but rose to international fame when she starred in the 1970’s adult film “Behind The Green Door.” The movie was the first hardcore pornographic movie released in the United States and launched Chambers into a 33-movie adult film career.
She recently made an appearance, posing for pictures and signing autographs at the Hollywood Collector’s Show in February.
Her only non-adult film was a bit part in “The Owl and the Pussycat” in 1970.
Taylor dabbled in politics, running for Vice President in 2004 on the Personal Choice Party ticket, receiving 946 votes. She was an alternate write-in candidate for the same office in 2008, running again with Charles Jay on the Boston Tea Party ticket.
Coroner’s officials have not stated a definitive cause of death, pending results of an autopsy.
