Many street lights on McBean Parkway are also down.

A power outage has occurred in Valencia, leaving many businesses and residences without electricity.

Edison has released an update saying that power has been restored to half of those customers as of 1:30 this afternoon.

They have isolated the cause of the remaining outages to a piece of equipment underground, but do not know exactly which piece of equipment is not working properly.  

The origional power outage covered the area North of Magic Mountain Parkway, South of Bouquet Canyon, East of McBean Parkway, and West of Springbrook.  The outage effectively left the Town Center, and several other shopping centers dark. Streetlights in that area are also out.

Please do not call the Sheriff’s Department to ask for updates on the power outage.
