The United States Post Office on Lyons Avenue recently ended its lease at its former Newhall location and relocated to a temporary space in the Valencia Marketplace, located on the Old Road.
“The former Newhall post office served countless nearby residents and businesses. It is the City’s desire that the United States Postal Service consider relocating the post office to a site within the Newhall area, so the surrounding community may continue to enjoy convenient access to its services,” said Santa Clarita Mayor Marsha McLean.
The United States Postal Service is currently conducting a market survey to identify potential locations in the area. The survey is expected to be completed and shared with the community in late January, followed by a 30-day comment period where residents can voice their opinions on where the post office should be located.
During the 30-day comment period, residents may communicate their desired location to the United States Postal Service. Interested citizens can visit Santa-Clarita.com/USPS to sign up to be added to an interest list to receive updates on the issue and information on how best to correspond with the United States Postal Service.
