Congressman Steve Knight will participate in a F-35 Lightning II cockpit demonstrator event, the world’s most advanced military aircraft for more than a decade.

Congressman Steve Knight, Member of the House Armed Services Committee, will attend an event with Lockheed Martin’s [NYSE: LMT] F-35 Lightning II interactive cockpit demonstrator on Thursday, May 7 at FMI in Valencia, CA.

Congressman Knight will speak with reporters, employees, state and local elected officials and other stakeholders and will have the opportunity to “fly” the cockpit demonstrator. During the event, Lockheed Martin and FMI officials will highlight the F-35’s role in protecting national security and the program’s economic impact across the U.S. and within California.

FMI provides a multitude of structural parts for the F-35.

The F-35 cockpit demonstrator simulates the fighter aircraft’s advanced technologies and combat capabilities in an interactive environment. Reporters are invited to “fly” the demonstrator and experience how advanced stealth, fighter agility and integrated operations make the F-35 the most capable multirole fighter in the world. Lockheed Martin and FMI officials will be available for one-on-one interviews.

Note: The demonstrator is visually and audibly interactive. Reporters will have unlimited close-up access to film or photograph “pilots” in the cockpit while “flying” a variety of mission scenarios.
