Santa Clarita residents can keep track of the annual resurfacing Overlay and Slurry Seal Project, currently underway in several Santa Clarita neighborhoods, through a new webpage on the city’s website, city officials said Monday.

Both Copper Hill Drive and the Chuck Pontius commuter trail in Santa Clarita will be subject to closures due to the annual Slurry Seal Resurfacing Project.

Copper Hill Drive To Experience Closures Through September 3

Copper Hill Drive will experience lane closures from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. beginning Thursday, Aug. 27 through Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, during the annual Slurry Seal Resurfacing Project.

The closures will affect lanes between Seco Canyon Road and McBean Parkway. One lane will be open on both the westbound and eastbound directions of the roadway at all times during construction.

Regular morning commuters along Copper Hill Drive are advised to plan ahead when traveling during these times.

Road closures are due to reopen after 4:30 p.m. each day. There will be no construction from Aug. 29 through Aug. 30.

Chuck Pontius Commuter Trail And Lane Closures In Effect For Slurry Seal Project

From Wednesday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, the Chuck Pontius Commuter Trail will be subject to closures from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for slurry seal resurfacing.

One westbound lane on Soledad Canyon Road from Golden Oak Road to Bouquet Canyon Road will also be closed during that time.

Both trail and road closures are due to reopen after 6:00 p.m. each day.

Motorists are encouraged to be aware of extra bike traffic on the road during these trail closures. Bike trail information, including maps and detours can be found at the website.

The Slurry Seal Resurfacing Project is an annual effort by the city to improve roadways and to extend their life. More information on this project can be found at the website.
