“Connie was a tremendous leader in the efforts to build the Cross Valley Connector. Designating the Golden Valley Road Bridge in her name is the least we can do to commemorate Connie’s legacy in the Santa Clarita Valley,” Wilk said.

“Connie devoted her life to our community, and I’m honored to recognize her hard work and dedication to the City of Santa Clarita.”

Worden-Roberts championed the development of the valley’s transportation network for nearly four decades, serving as the vice-chair of the City of Santa Clarita Formation Committee and served on the city’s first planning commission.

She also served as chairwoman of the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles County, founder of the Valley Industry Association, former chairwoman of the board and director of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce and a member of many more community organizations.

ACR 89 will now be heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
