Private Security Officer Assaulted In Hart Park

Okhts_crime_genericn Saturday, a Private Security Officer working for William S. Hart Park was assaulted with a knife after asking a woman to move their car from a “No Parking Zone.”

 

While working routine patrol in William S. Hart Park,the Security Officer drove up to a parked vehicle that was parked in a “No Parking Zone” and asked the person sitting in the driver’s seat, Darnetta Smith, a 60 year old Female, to move the vehicle into a legal parking area.

Ms. Smith moved her vehicle a few feet forward, and then exited. She approached him with a knife and yelled profanities and derogatory racial statements. The Security Officer quickly drove a safe distance away and requested Sheriff’s Deputies to the scene for assistance.

Deputies arriving at the park found Smith seated in her vehicle. She was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a knife in a threatening manner. She is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
