Providence Holy Cross Receives More Awards

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center was given three HealthGrade Excellence awards for Pulmonary Care, Stroke Care and Gastrointestinal Care.

In addition, Angela Martinez, a Registered ICU Nurse was Holy Cross’ recipient of the Hospital Hero Award, given by the National Health Foundation, and organized by the Hospital Association of Southern California. She will be presented with the award on November 10th.

Angela demonstrated heroics in Alexandria, Louisiana during hurricanes Katrina and Rita. She was one of six nurses and two social workers who traveled to Alexandria to help the town, as its medical facilities were overwhelmed. The group was able to assist hundreds of patients, and as a result of their work the Mayor of Alexandria declared a “Providence Holy Cross and Providence Saint Joseph Medical Centers Day of Thanks.”
