Providence Kicks Off Third Saturday Donations With A Pint For A Pint

baskin_robbins_htmlYou scream. I scream. We all scream for ice cream.

How about a pint for a pint?

But hold the screaming.

blood_dropStarting Saturday, you can save a life and get some ice cream by donating at the new satellite blood donor program opening this weekend (and conveniently scheduled every third Saturday of the month) at Providence Holy Cross Health Center, 26357 McBean Parkway in Valencia.

Providence Medical Centers – which operates its own blood collection program to serve its five Southern California medical centers, including Providence Holy Cross, Providence Saint Joseph, Providence Tarzana and Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers in Torrance and San Pedro – have partnered with Baskin Robbins, which provides coupons for a pint of ice cream to sweeten the deal.

Santa Clarita Valley residents historically have enthusiastically supported blood drives sponsored by Providence when the blood mobile visits the community, or at the Blood Donor Center in Burbank. Now, the opportunity to donate will be available in Santa Clarita once a month to make this life-saving contribution more convenient.

The Valencia collection center will be open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. the third Saturday of every month to make it quick and easy for Santa Clarita Valley residents to make a life-saving donation.

It’s easy to set up an appointment and chances are, the ice cream won’t be the only sweet feeling you’ll get after you help a patient in need. To schedule your time, log on to www.pscvmp.givesblood.org or call 818-847-4433.
