The City of Santa Clarita, in collaboration with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, is inviting the public to comment on a grant proposal providing $36,780 to fund the Sheriff’s Crime Prevention Unit. Community feedback for the 2011 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) application must be submitted by Tuesday, July 19.

Operational uses include comprehensive drug enforcement and education, gang and graffiti enforcement, T3 and bike patrols, alcohol and tobacco stings, truancy and curfew sweeps, probation and parole enforcement, surveillance and undercover sting operations, and GPS tracking devices.
