Public Invited To Cops Submission Grappling Event

submission-grapplingDeputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will take on officers from the Los Angeles Police Department in a Submission Grappling charity event from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, at the Castaic Sports Complex.

 

The public is invited to attend this exciting sport grappling duel where deputies will use mixed martial arts and combat sports techniques, including ground fighting tactics, with the aim of obtaining submission from their opponents using submission holds.

Sponsored and sanctioned by the Professional Peace Officers Association and hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the event is sure to be an exciting one to remember.

Money raised during the event will be donated to help the families of fallen peace officers and a portion will be used to refurbish and update the Peace Officers’ Memorial Garden at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Tickets can be purchased in advance on the “In Their Honor” Public Safety Fight League Web site at www.ithfights.com — a 10% discount will be offered.
