National Weather Service Issues Red Flag Warning, High Winds Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory and red flag warning for the Santa Clarita Valley.

Strong Santa Ana winds in most of the Los Angeles and Ventura County areas will result in North to Northeast winds ranging from 20 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH.

Although winds will will peak around noon, the NWS warns some advisories may need to be extended through Monday for some locations.

High winds can make driving more difficult, especially for high profile vehicles using the 5, 14, 126, 405 and 118 freeways.

High winds, low humidity and hot weather has also led the NWS to issue a red flag warning. If you think you see signs of fire call the appropriate fire department immediately.
