Thousands of yards of sediment removed from Forest Service dock.
After being closed for 45 days for sediment removal, Pyramid Lake will reopen for public recreation on Saturday.
The Department of Water Resources performed the cleanup operations, drawing the lake level down 23 feet and removing 32,000 cubic yards of sediment that had accumulated around the U.S. Forest Service boat dock over the last four decades.
The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department and USFS will now be able to navigate to and from the boat dock during normal low water levels and the boating public will have a new launch ramp boarding float.
