Time to put away the flip-flops, at least temporarily. The
unseasonably warm temperatures will be leaving tonight, replaced by the first
rains of 2009.

According to the National Weather Service, the precipitation
is expected to land across Southwestern California
tonight into Thursday night, beginning in San Luis Obispo
and traveling into the Santa Clarita and San Fernando
Valleys.

Rain will turn into scattered showers on Thursday night.
Foothill and mountain regions are expected to receive one to two inches of rain
and a threat of local flash flooding in recent burn areas.
