McDonalds Recalls ‘Shrek’ Glasses For Cadmium

shrekglassesMcDonalds Corporation has voluntarily recalled “Shrek Forever Drinking Glasses” because of cadmium found in the designs on the glasses. The recall is supported by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Long-term exposure to cadmium can cause adverse health effects. Approximately 12 million glasses are involved in the recall. The “Shrek Forever After 3D” collectable drinking glass are 16 ounce glasses that came in four designs, Shrek, Fiona, Puss n’ Boots, and Donkey.

The glasses were sold in McDonald’s restaurants nationwide from May to June for about $2. No injuries or illnesses have been reported.

Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
