Mislabeled Walnuts Cause Salad Recall

khts_recallsA precautionary voluntary recall of 120 cartons of 5.75 oz Berries & Balsamic Salad has been issued by California-based organicgirl produce because it may contain an incorrect condiment packet with an unlabeled allergen for walnuts.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The product is packaged in plastic trays in a 6-count carton, UPC 895203-001332, product lot number 31B073830, with Use-By Date of December 16, 2009. No other products, lot numbers or use-by dates are involved in this recall. The limited number of cases was distributed in three states only:California, Texas and Florida.

The inadvertent mislabeling of the condiment packet has been corrected. This action does not affect any other organicgirl products in the marketplace.

Consumers who have purchased the Berries & Balsamic salad from this specific production day are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact organicgirl Produce at 1-831-758-7810.
