More than 14 million phone chargers could be affected by a recall issued by Nokia today. The affected chargers were manufactured by BYD, a third-party supplier and the plastic covers of the chargers could come loose and expose internal components, posing an electrical shock if touched.
The recall is being done as a precautionary measure, as no injuries have been reported. Affected chargers will be exchanged free of charge. The chargers subject to recall were manufactured between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009 with the following model types: AC-3U, AC-3E and those manufactured between April 12, 2009 and October 25, 2009 with the following model type: AC-4U.
