“Recycle for Life” event will help the Hutchison’s pay their bills.

Just a few months ago, Santa Clarita resident, 8 year-old Evan Hutchison was diagnosed with leukemia. From there, Evan began treatments at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.  His mother sold their townhouse, and moved her other two sons into a corporate housing building near the hospital.  This way, she could be close to the hospital for Evan’s weekly treatments.  

He is at high risk, due to his low white blood cell count.  He also spent his eighth birthday in the hospital.  For two months, he has been unable to see his friends because the doctors feared he would contract an infection. 

In an effort to help, one of his fellow boy scouts held a car wash to pay for medical expenses. 

Now his  group of supporters have organized a “Recycle for Life” event, which helps the Hutchisons pay for their monthly expenses. 

The last summer “Recycle for Life” event will take place on Saturday, August 4th, at Highlands Elementary, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.. 

All you have to do is drive up with your empty cans and bottles, and someone will come to your car and take your recyclables for you.     

 When the school year begins, the “Recycle for Life” event will continue, and help the Hutchison family with their bills.
