One of Santa Clarita’s largest and most successful fundraisers is
gearing up for 2009’s event. Relay for Life will take to Central Park
May 30th -31st to raise awareness about cancer, and to raise funds to
combat the disease.

Tuesday, March 10
Relay For Life Committee – Local residents interested in helping to organize this year’s SCV American Cancer Society Relay For Life can join this committee meeting 6:30 p.m. at the Foundation Building, in the portable buildings on the west side of the HMNM Hospital campus. This year’s Relay will be held May 30-31 at Central Park, and there are still a number of committee positions and chairs to be filled with volunteers. Volunteers interested in joining the local Relay committee can contact the event co-chairs at chairs@scvrelay.org.

Tuesday, Feb. 17
Relay For life Team Captain Meeting – Captains who have already organized a team for this year’s SCV American Cancer Society Relay For life or those interested in forming a team are welcome to attend this monthly meeting for team captains at 6:30 p.m. at Northpark Elementary School, 23335 W. Sunset Hills Dr., Valencia. This year’s Relay will be held May 30-31 at Central Park. Captains can obtain more information or register teams online at www.scvrelay.org.

Thursday, March 5
Relay For Life Kick-off – Team captains, walkers, cancer survivors and others interested in this year’s American Cancer Society SCV Relay For Life are invited to attend from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Residence Inn, 25320 The Old Road, Stevenson Ranch. The evening will include prize drawings, luminaria sales, Relay Store, an inspiring guest speaker, and a chance to register teams in time for the earlybird discounted campsite registration of $50. This year’s Relay will be held May 30-31 at Central Park.
