Luau will present awards, and celebrate the success of last month's Relay for Life.
Team captains, co-captains, committee members and special guests who helped make the American Cancer Society’s 2007 SCV Relay For Life a rousing success will celebrate their victory with a luau-themed awards banquet Wednesday, July 18, at Hart Hall in Newhall.
The evening will start with dinner and presentation of awards at 6 p.m., followed by an opportunity for teams to register early for the 2008 event. The first teams to register not only receive a $50 per campsite Early Bird registration fee price break, but also have the best opportunity to select the campsite of their choice for next June’s event.
The event is being organized by Team Chair Brandi Newquist. Additional information can be obtained by checking the local Relay Web site at www.scvrelay.org/teams. Hart Hall is located between Hart Park and the SCV Historical Society’s Heritage Junction, at 24151 San Fernando Rd., Newhall.
This year’s Relay For Life earned more than $470,000 to help support research and patient services offered to local cancer patients by the American Cancer Society. Relay is run by an all-volunteer committee, and local residents who would like to help plan the 2008 event can sign up at the awards banquet or respond online at the Relay Web site.
