Local speaking engagement comes to Santa Clarita.

As the race for Governor of California heats up, one Republican candidate headed to Santa Clarita. Meg Whitman, former CEO of eBay, spoke at a campaign fundraiser this afternoon.

Whitman is faced off against two other Republican hopefuls before the June 8th primary: state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner and former U.S. Congressman Tom Campbell.

Whitman has been endorsed by some local elected officials, including Congressman Buck McKeon and Assembly member Audra Strickland. State Senator Tony Strickland and former Assembly member Sharon Runner serve as her campaign co-chairs.

Assemblyman Cameron Smyth and State Senator George Runner have endorsed Steve Poizner.
