Homes at the top of Fairgate Avenue in Newhall had been declared unsafe back on January 8th, and the latest storm sealed the fate of these structures….
Because most of the homes in the area were built in the 1960s, they were not built to the strict guidelines of today’s homes. Also this particular homeowner’s insurance policy does not cover mudslides.
The homes determined to be an immediate threat to neighbors were demolished on Monday.
