Many Santa Clarita residents don’t even realize that there is a true river that runs through the valley, namely, the Santa Clara (not Santa Clarita) River, which extends for over 100 miles from Acton all the way to the Pacific Ocean in Ventura.
Because of the extra water and new streams, especially those along street curbs, deadly pollutants have been swept into the Santa Clara river, one of only two natural river systems in Southern Calfornia.
