Supervisor issues $10K reward for information in Newhall shooting.
In an attempt to get more information on a murder that
shocked the community in December 2007, L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich
has issued a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and
conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Bryan Miranda.
Miranda, a recent Hart High graduate and AYSO soccer player,
was killed shortly after midnight Dec.
2 while he was talking with a high school friend outside a house on Arch
Street in Newhall. It was reported that a brown
Toyota Camry drove up to the two young men and the occupants opened fire, killing
Miranda and injuring his friend.
Det. Brian Schoonmaker of Sheriff’s Homicide said that
investigators have exhausted all leads they have on the case and are hoping
someone will come forward with more information.
“Because this is gang-related, nobody wants to talk,”
Schoonmaker said. “We’re hoping the reward might generate some more leads.”
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to
contact Det. Schoonmaker or Det. Kevin Lowe at the Homicide Bureau, (323)
890-5500.
