Riverbed Sweep Operation Arrests Five Suspects For Trespassing

khts_crime_genericFive people were arrested for trespassing during a saturation patrol operation that was conducted on June 21.

Last Tuesday, Countywide C.O.P.S. and the Santa Clarita Valley Crime Impact Team conducted a joint saturation patrol operation in response to complaints from residents and city code enforcement of trespassing, public drunkenness, littering, and the finding of human urine and excrement in the Valle Del Oro riverbed, north of Carl Ct.

During the sweep operation, the five suspects were located at an encampment in the middle of the riverbed.  They were arrested for trespassing and were transported to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station where they were booked. Two of the suspects had outstanding arrest warrants out of the Newhall court. One suspect was identified as a person of interest in a Santa Clartia Valley, sexual assault case.
