Roles In “South Pacific” Still Up For Grabs

COC theatre production holds final auditions tonight, all actors
invited.

 


[view:node_ad=5]Work has officially begun for two new College of the Canyons
Theatre department productions.

 

On Friday, auditions officially opened up for the Tony award
winning Broadway musical “South Pacific” and for the Neil Labute play, “Some
Girl(s).”

 

Between the two plays, over 30 roles are open for a wide
variety of actors and ensemble players.  

 

The final round of auditions will take place in the COC
Black Box theatre starting at 7:00 p.m.
tonight.

 

Men auditioning for leading roles in “South Pacific” will be
asked to sing “Some Enchanted Evening,” or “Younger than Springtime,” and women
will be asked to sing “I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy” or “Bali Hai.”

 

Those auditioning for a part in the chorus will be asked to
sing “There is Nothin’ like a Dame” and “Wash that Man Right Outta my Hair,”
respectively.

 

“Men and women trying out for “Some Girl(s)” will be asked
to perform a one to two minute contemporary monologue.
