Stolen Rolex recovered in joint department investigation

ImageDetectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Burglary and Theft Team arrested a burglary suspect at his Winnetka home Tuesday. The suspect, MW/18, was wanted in connection with a burglary incident which occurred at the Ben Bridge Jewelers in the Westfield Town Center on April 9th, 2007.

The suspect entered the store, expressed interest in an expensive Rolex watch and then ran from the store taking the watch with him. The suspect was identified through a thorough cooperative investigation, during which the Beverly Hills Police Department found the stolen watch had been pawned at a business in their community.

Additional investigation led to the identification of the suspect as the incident was caught on surveillance cameras. The suspect was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on a felony Burglary charge. He is being held in lieu of 20,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing and there is a possibility the suspect will be linked to similar theft incidents in other cities.
