The Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society has something to help amateur gardeners, offering a free rose care seminar.
The seminar will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 9 at the SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, Newhall. The seminar will feature rose consultants Bob Belendez, Kitty Belendez, and Steve Jones who will demonstrate how to properly prune various types of roses.
They will also explain how to plant bareroot roses, how to rejuvenate roses grown in containers, and how to fertilize and mulch.
