Senator George Runner (R-Antelope Valley) was again selected to Chair the Senate Republican Caucus and confirmed by the full State Senate in addition to being named to several key committees.
“It’s an honor and privilege to once again be named Chair of the Senate Republican Caucus,” stated Senator George Runner. “During this legislative year, we will be tackling many important and difficult issues – health care, prison reform, the state’s structural deficit to name a few. We will be ready to bring to the table sensible reforms and creative solutions to address these important issues.”
Runner was also named as Vice Chair of the Senate Banking, Finance, and Insurance Committee and Vice Chair of the Senate Environmental Quality Committee. He will also serve as a member of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee and Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee.
“I look forward to working on these important committees where I will continue to protect taxpayers and advocate for more common sense solutions to the different issues facing California,” said Runner.
Runner represents Senate District 17 which includes portions of Los Angeles County including AntelopeValley, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley; and portions of Ventura, San Bernardino, and Kern counties.
