Former Assemblywoman and State Senate candidate Sharon Runner will host a meet and greet reception from 4:30 to 5:30 Tuesday to kick off her campaign for the 17th District Senate seat vacated by her husband, George.
The reception will be held at the Santa Clarita Republican headquarters at 26523 Carl Boyer Drive, across from Walmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Sharon Runner’s focus in the Senate will be the same as it was in the Assembly; protecting taxpayers and ensuring that government’s top priority is public safety.

“Already we’re seeing our new governor talk about raiding taxpayer’s family bank accounts,” explained Runner. “I look forward to joining with other tax fighters to block any attempt to force taxpayers to dig deeper, allowing government to grow more and more bloated.”
During the reception, Sharon will talk individually with attendees as well as speak to the group about the how she’ll meet the challenges facing our state and our families.
“As a small business owner, Sharon Runner knows the challenges being faced by employers, employees and all working California families. As the co-author of Jessica’s Law, she’s one of our state’s, let alone community’s, top protectors of our working California families,” stated Republican headquarters chair Lynn Vakay.
The special election, which will be held February 15, was called to fill the vacancy created when former Senator George Runner left the State Senate to take office as a Member of the Board of Equalization.
