SB 277 seeks to eliminate the personal belief vaccine exemption for children enrolled in California’s public or private schools.

“I think vaccines are a wonderful development of modern medicine and am supportive of their use,” Runner said. “However, I am also an advocate for parental rights. I believe SB 277 eliminates parents’ rights to choose what is best for their own children, which is why I could not support the bill.”

Having just been elected to the Senate in March of this year, Runner was appointed Vice-Chair of the Senate Education Committee last week, according to a news release. She also served on the Education Committee during her previous Senate term.

“I started my career in public service by founding a private school in the Antelope Valley,” Runner said. “Education policy has always been one of my greatest priorities.”

Runner added, “I monitored testimony on SB 277 last week and met with many interest groups and constituents representing both sides of the issue after my appointment to the committee.”

  1. Who voted for this idiot?

  2. Thank you Sharon Runner for standing up for our rights! Do people really want GOV forcing medical procedures on them? What next forced sterilization, forced weight loss? Wake up people, this is just the first step. Runner and one other senator voted no. They are the only ones not bought and paid for. SAd day for CA if this Nazi like bill passes into law.

  3. I do not like the idea that I Have To vaccinate my child with at least 22 different chemicals in one or two shots.

I believe the sudden outbreak of Measles at Disneyland was from an Illegal Alien who was permitted entry into this country by Obama, not someone from Europe as the news tells us.

I further believe that all these chemicals in our vaccines are too much to handle for the small bodies of our children.
