Michael Hoefflin Foundation to benefit from the race.

[view:node_ad=5]The SC Runner’s Club has presented the Michael Hoefflin Foundation with a donation of $1777.42 in support of the Foundation’s work with children fighting all forms of pediatric cancer. The check was presented to Scott Schauer, Executive Director of the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, at the club’s monthly board meeting on May 8, 2008.  The check represents the proceeds from the club’s recent Women’s 5K Run/Walk held in Saugus on March 30th.  “I always wanted to do something with the kids with cancer.” stated Race Director, Carl Pantoji. “The kids with cancer touch my heart.”

Scott Schauer summed up the Foundation’s appreciation of the SC Runner’s Club support.  “We thank all of the runners who worked so hard to help us make a difference in the lives of these children.  There are many grateful families who receive gas and grocery support from the Foundation during the time their child is diagnosed and being treated for cancer.  Our hope is to meet a small need during a time that most of us could not even imagine. The difference made by this Foundation and the people who support our work is tremendous.”

The Michael Hoefflin Foundation for children’s cancer is a public non-profit 501(c) (3) foundation serving children and families touched by cancer in the Santa Clarita and surrounding valleys.  For more information please contact us at (661) 250-4100 or go to www.MHF.org.
