Sales Tax Revenues Increase in Santa Clarita

The City of Santa Clarita saw a whopping 9% increase in local sales tax during the second quarter of 2004 over the previous year, making Santa Clarita one of Los Angeles County’s economically strongest cities…

“The sales tax, by far, continues to be our single largest resource of revenue. When people shop in the City their sales tax dollars stay right here at home.”, explains Darren Hernandez, City Treasurer.

The City of Santa Clarita launched its “Shop Santa Clarita” campaign last year, helping to educate residents about the many benefits of shopping within the City and strengthening local sales tax.
