Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, the family health provider that serves uninsured and underinsured in the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding area, recently installed Gloria Mercado-Fortine as the new chairwoman of their Board of Directors.

Mayor Bob Kellar conducted the installation at the Samuel Dixon annual meeting on Monday.
Previous board chairman, Edward Bolden will continue on the board as vice chairman of fundraising. Mike Fisher will assist as vice chairman.
Also on the board, Amanda Calderon remains the secretary and P.K. Reibsamen continues on as treasurer.
During the meeting, Edward Bolden was given special recognition for his seven years as chairman of the organization. Samuel Dixon staff presented Bolden with awards for his service.
Kellar took time to thank Bolden and present him with a Commendation from the City of Santa Clarita. Assemblyman Scott Wilk presented Bolden with a Resolution, which was read on the floor of the state Assembly on July 1.

As the only non-profit health center founded and based in the Santa Clarita Valley, SDFHC serves the greater Santa Clarita Valley and is governed by a local board of directors, all of whom are Santa Clarita residents.
