Sand Canyon Residents On Edge After Possible Large Animal Attack

altFamily’s dog killed in mysterious incident.

An email is circulating through the Sand Canyon area warning of brazen wild animals, which have reportedly been seen in the neighborhoods with increasing frequency.

One family in particular was affected, finding their pet dog killed by what appeared to be a mountain lion.

No one saw the creature responsible, however the Sand Canyon area is nestled in the basin of wild land and sightings of mountain lions, bobcats and coyotes are not surprising.

If there are large animals on the prowl in the neighborhood, residents may want to consider some simple precautions that could help steer the animals away from backyards. Installing motion-activated lights or keeping the garbage inside the garage can help deter  these animals.
