Santa Clarita American Red Cross Asks: Is Someone You Know A Hometown Hero
The Santa Clarita Valley American Red Cross (ARC), in partnership with KHTS AM-1220 radio station, the Santa Clarita Valley’s hometown radio station, is asking the community to nominate their very own Hometown Heroes so they may be honored at the first annual Santa Clarita Valley HOMETOWN HEROES BREAKFAST later this year. Hometown Heroes are people who have displayed heroic or humanitarian actions in the community – people whose compassionate and charitable actions exemplify the true spirit of the American Red Cross – people all across the Santa Clarita Valley. The special event will be held at the Hyatt Hotel on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $35. Sponsorships are available. All nominees will receive special recognition. And one winner in each category will be chosen and awarded at the Hometown Heroes Breakfast. Suggested categories for nominations include: First Responders; Animal; Workplace; Senior (60 plus); Youth (through 17); Educator (classroom); Military; Adult (18 to 59); Medical; and Youth Sports Mentor. Qualifying recognition period is June 1, 2005 through May 31, 2006. Nomination deadline is June 1, 2006.
