Santa Clarita Charities Receive $90,000 For The Arts

TPC/West Ranch Art & Wine Gala officials are presenting $90,000 in donations to local charities at the Valencia Wine Co. on Tuesday. The money was raised last September at a wine gala fundraiser for local arts organizations.

“We saw an opportunity to get together and raise money for all these community organizations that could benefit from some fundraising,” said Michele Golden spokeswoman for the fundraiser.

The TPC/West Ranch Art & Wine Gala has raised more than $320,000 for the arts in the Santa Clarita Valley since its inception in 2008.

The money was distributed to the Santa Clarita Ballet Company, the Santa Clarita Master Chorale, the Canyon Theatre Guild, the Joe Ranft CalArts Alumni Scholarship Fund, the COC PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program, the Herb Albert School of Music at CalArts Performance-Composition Program and the COC Sweets Kitchen.

This year’s gala organizers included: Honorary Chairs Richard M. and Elizabeth Sherman, Co-Chairs Nancy and Dave Bossert, Cheri and Don Fleming, Howard Green, Guy LeLarge, Larry Mazzeo, Greg McWilliams, Michael Young and Event Producer Michele Reckon-Golden.
