“Interested residents now have until Aug.15 to submit applications for vacancies on the city’s Arts Commission, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission, Planning Commission and Open Space Preservation District Financial Accountability and Audit Panel (FAAP).
Three terms of office on each commission/panel, which are currently filled, will expire July 31.
However, if a replacement is not found, then the previously appointed official remains in his or her post until a new commission or panel member is named, officials said.
Selected candidates will each serve four-year terms expiring July 31, 2018.
All interested parties must submit an application and three letters of recommendation by 5:00 p.m. on August 15 to the City Clerk’s Office in Suite 120 at Santa Clarita City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard.
All three commissions, as well as the FAAP, are comprised of five members each.
