Ferry apparently suffered fractures to a leg and his left shoulder when he fell at his hotel last week.

“He was near a loading dock near his hotel,” said the e-mail from Pete Ferry. “He grabbed a pole to help hoist him up, but his arm couldn’t handle his weight. This (caused) him to fall backwards…”

The e-mail also states Ferry is “healing slowly” and that the family hopes to get him home as soon as he is able to travel.

Frank Ferry was elected to the City Council in 1998 and announced in January that he will not run for reelection when his current term ends in 2014.
