Santa Clarita Park Re-Dedication Ceremony Planned

Come out and enjoy an afternoon of family fun in the sun, with new play equipment and check out the refurbished “Robot”.  The Saugus Action Committee, in partnership with the City of Santa Clarita, is re-dedicating Santa Clarita Park, 27285 Seco Canyon Road, on Saturday, June 17, 2006.  The event will run 1:00pm to 5:00pm, with free, City Sponsored swimming, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.  The City’s Parkmobile will also be on site, for loads of family fun.  Individual BAR-B-Q’s are available for family use.

As reported in The Signal on June 1, 2006, racist graffiti was painted on the new play equipment.  The Saugus Action Committee is going to pilot a “Park Watch” program in the Saugus parks.  If successful, the City plans to implement the Program to all of the City Parks.  Learn more about this Program and the Saugus Action Committee at the re-dedication event or attend our next meeting, Thursday, June 8th, 7:00pm at City Hall, First floor, Orchard Room A & B.  For more information, contact Mark Weiss, Chairman, at fonemann@aol.com or the City sponsored web site: www.santa-clarita.com/cityhall/saugusactioncommittee.
