Fair Oaks Ranch Community School’s PTA held a “E-Waste Recycling” fundraiser Saturday May 2, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
“For every pound of “E-Waste” collected, the company who picks everything up donates $1 to the school,” said Maribel Paulino, a PTA member at Fair Oaks Ranch.
The school asked parents and residents to help by cleaning out their garages and closets of e-waste and bringing it to the school for the recycling fundraiser.
“This is the first year we have held the fundraiser but we hope to do it again next year,” Paulino said.
Suggested items to drop off included: computers, monitors, printers, copiers, laptops, keyboards, stereos, and televisions. Items not accepted: household batteries, refrigerators, freezers, space heaters, ovens, microwaves, and light bulbs, according to school officials.
