The Community Emergency Response Team, also known as the CERT, program is designed to train citizens to protect themselves and their loved ones for these worst case scenarios.
The CERT course trains participants to manage utilities and put out small fire; treat the three medical killers by opening airways, controlling bleeding and treating for shock; provide basic medical aid; search for and rescue victims safely; organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers to be effective; collect disaster intelligence to support first responder efforts.
The course is free and will be held every Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. for seven weeks starting August 20 at the Sierra Clubhouse located at 30000 Sand Canyon Road in Canyon Country. The final night will be Thursday, October 1.
