Santa Clarita Restaurant Holds Fundraiser For Injured Cycling Advocate

A fundraiser for Kevin Korenthal, injured cycling advocate, was held at Casa Vieja Grill on Soledad Canyon Road Monday to help Kevin and his family.

“We started the fundraiser at 11 a.m. but a large crowd started to show up at around 6 p.m.,” said Casa Vieja Staff.

Korenthal was training for a triathlon when he was hit by a car on December 22, 2012. He is currently in a wheelchair and undergoing therapy for the major injuries he sustained from the collision.

“I’m healing well there’s no longer a chance of any infection, I’m doing physical therapy and getting stronger and my doctor seems positive,” Korenthal said.

Casa Vieja added that they would like to continue raising funds for the Korenthal family and have extended their offer of 25% of their proceeds this Wednesday and Thursday if they mention Kevin Korenthal and KHTS when dining.

“We are looking forward to raising more money for Kevin and his family in the future,” Casa Vieja staff said.
