Santa Clarita Seeks Input On Soledad Canyon Corridor Plan

City of Santa Clarita officials are welcoming community input Oct. 23 at the Jo Anne Darcy Canyon Country Library for a plan to shape the future of the Soledad Canyon Road corridor.

“The proposed boundary right now stands from Camp Plenty Road to Solemint Road,” said Maggi Sanchez, who works for the city of Santa Clarita’s Planning Division.

“There will be exhibits detailing each of the study area and we’ll ask for resident feedback on that,” she said, adding that the plan was specific to the retail centers along that stretch of road.

This meeting, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will be conducted in a workshop format, whereby participants will be asked to provide feedback on various development-related issues relating to the current state of the Soledad Canyon Road corridor.

“It’ll be interactive, and a chance for residents to tell us what they like and what they don’t like (about the exhibits),” she said.

It will be the first of two meetings, and Sanchez likened the process the city was planning to use for input to what city officials did during the recently approved Lyons Avenue Corridor Plan.

Those questions about the proposals are suggested to contact the city of Santa Clarita Planning Division at 661-255-4330.

The library is located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country.
