Here is reason No. 3 the Dodgers will win the 2018 World Series:

Corey Seager

There simply isn’t a better shortstop in the National League than the 23-year-old Dodgers All-Star. There are a couple of excellent ones in the American League, most notably one the Dodgers had the displeasure of meeting in the World Series (Carlos Correa of the Astros), but Seager might have the best combination of defense and hitting that his position in the game.

Which made the 2017 postseason all the more excruciating, given Seager missed the NLCS and was largely ineffective while playing hurt in the World Series. A healthy Seager for a 2018 run to the World Series is a difference-maker at one of the premium positions in the sport.

Seager is only beginning to enter his prime as a .300 hitter with good pop for a middle infielder (averaging 24 home runs per year the last two seasons).

It will come as no surprise that Corey Seager is our sleeper for MVP of the National League. A great year and an even better postseason culminating in the first Dodgers championship in 30 years will do well to propel the legend of Corey Seager in Dodger Blue.

Tonight, the Dodgers host the Angels in the final tune-up of the season before 162 games in a row that matter.
