Albert Einstein Academy Girls Soccer Teams Wins First Game

The Albert Einstein Academy girls soccer team is off to a great start.

The Einstein girls won their first varsity game, 6-1, over Concordia from Sylmar.

Tianna Loving scored three goals and had an assist for Einstein.

The Einstein girls play their home opener against Lakeview Charter today at Rio Norte Junior High School.

In baseball, the Dodgers signed pitcher Clayton Kershaw to a record-breaking deal, according to several media reports.

He signed a seven-year deal worth $215 million, the richest contract for a pitcher in major league baseball.

He has won two of the past three Cy Young Awards. He went 16-9 with a 1.83 ERA and 232 strikeouts to win his second Cy Young Award in 2013.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns, 121-114. It was the sixth loss in a row for the Lakers. They are off to Boston for a game against the Celtics on Friday night.

In the NHL, the Kings traded back-up goaltender Ben Scrivens to the Edmonton Oilers for a third-round pick in the June draft.

Scrivens was 7-5-4 in 19 games with the Kings. He had a 1.97 goals against average and three shutouts.

The Kings recalled goalie Martin Jones from the AHL.

On the ice, the Kings are in St. Louis for a game against the Blues tonight. The Kings are coming off a 1-0 shutout over the Vancouver Canucks.
