Basketball: Master’s College Men Roll Over California Baptist

khts_sports1TheMaster’s College men’s basketball team easily handled California Baptist, 65-47, on Thursday night. Dean Hadley scored a team-high 24 points for The Master’s College in the win.

The Master’s College women’s basketball team won its third game in a row, 76-58, over Cal Baptist. Brittany Henderson scored a team-high 20 points and had 10 rebounds and Erica Inge added 15 for The Master’s College.

Hart High graduate Ryan Wolfe, a wide receiver at the University of Nevada , Las Vegas , has been selected to participate in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis next month. Wolfe, a three-time All-Mountain West Conference selection, caught 74 passes for 760 yards and two touchdowns in his senior season at UNLV.

In high school basketball, the surprising Canyon boys team is on the road to play Hart tonight. Canyon won its league opener at Golden Valley , the reigning Foothill League champions, earlier this week.

In other games, the Saugus boys are at Golden Valley and the West Ranch boys are at Valencia .
On the girls side, Saugus is at Golden Valley , West Ranch is at Valencia and Canyon is at Hart.

The Lakers and Clippers meet tonight for a game at Staples Center. Pau Gasol is expected to play after missing the past six games with a hamstring injury. Kobe Bryant also said he would play tonight despite nursing a bad back and a broken finger. The last time the two teams met, the Clippers beat the Lakers. Since then, the Lakers split a pair of games in Texas , losing to the San Antonio Spurs and beating the Dallas Mavericks. The Clippers lost two in a row on the road, the first to the Memphis Grizzlies, then to the New Orleans Hornets.

In hockey, the Kings shut out the Anaheim Ducks, 4-0. Dustin Brown scored the 100th goal of his career and Jack Johnson had two assists for the Kings.
