Canyon Baseball Team Rallies, But Falls To Diamond Bar

It was a tough day in tournament play for the baseball teams from the Santa Clarita Valley.

The Canyon baseball team lost to Diamond Bar, 7-6, in its final game of the Anaheim Lions Tournament.

The Cowboys rallied, scoring all six runs in the top of the seventh inning. But Diamond Bar built a 7-0 lead and scored three runs in the fourth inning.

Canyon went 3-2 in the Lions Tournament with wins over Oxnard, JW North and Camas from Washington.

The Saugus baseball team ended the Lions Tournament with a 9-9 tie against Salinas. The Centurions scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to tie the score. They scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take a five-run lead.

Chris Devery and Joe Bahr each doubled and drove in two runs for Saugus.

The Hart baseball team lost to Chatsworth, 6-0, in the consolation bracket of the Scott Boras Tournament.

Dayton Provost and Cody Miller each had two hits for Hart.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the visiting San Francisco Giants, 5-3, the second loss in a row to the reigning World Series champions.

The Giants scored four runs in the third inning to take a 4-1 lead.

Next up for the Dodgers are the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night.

In the NBA, the Clippers clobbered the Phoenix Suns, 126-101, and snapped a three-game losing streak. It was the 50th win of the season for the Clippers and the first time in franchise history that the Clippers reached the 50-win mark.

In the NHL, the Kings are home for a game against the Minnesota Wild tonight. The Kings are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.
